LA Go Vote Campaign
I was approached by Los Angeles County and Owl Bridge Media to develop a design and animation system for the Los Angeles County Go Vote Campaign, intended for a series of videos to be broadcast on TV and across social media.
Studio: Owl Bridge Media
Designer/Animator: Marina Antonowicz
2021 Hermes Creative Awards, Gold Winner, GoVote TV Advertisement
2020 AVA Digital Awards, Gold Winner, GoVote Campaign
The Problem; None of these videos were going to have voice-over, they all had a lot of text/information to share, needed to be retranslated into 8 languages, and had a 3 week turnaround time.
My Solution: I created a punchy and colorful design/animation style that could address all their topics but still be visually interesting. The designs were simplified enough so it would be possible to translate everything in time. To ensure all the information LA County wanted to communicate was not lost, I used a song with a good beat to help land some of the words and help guide the viewer to read along.
Achievements:
-Despite COVID at the time, Los Angeles Country had the highest voter turnout ever recorded in the country .
-Out of all the GO VOTE campaigns nationwide, this one had the highest watch-through rate.
-LA County was so pleased with the videos that they purchased additional ad space on the Los Angeles Times website, ensuring the video was the first thing every visitor saw.
